ABOUT
When my team and I were assigned to create fully sustainable packaging for a slime kit that is new to the industry, we conducted an immense amount of research. We found that there has been a decline in children’s travel because of financial and safety concerns from parents leading to less global perspective and education. So, we decided to create international city-themed slime kits that reveals a new slime each day, creating an at-home travel experience while increasing interaction with the packaging. The target audience is ages 8-12 and their parents.
Each kit includes:
5 slimes inspired by attractions in the city with different scents, textures, colors, and charms
Map and fact sheet that features Professor Geo, the tour guide that teaches about each location
EXTERIOR
PACKAGING
We wanted to enhance play within the packaging itself, giving the exterior a luggage design with the stickers of each location inside. After a lot of trial and error we landed on a innovative, secure, and fully sustainable design. The front features the dynamic logo of that particular kit’s city (Paris, NYC, or Tokyo). On the back we feature an introduction to the kit, what’s included, and instructions. We also included age and warning labels.
INTERIOR
PACKAGING
The interior uses a deck to enclose five of the “buildings” that feature illustrations of the location that wraps around the container and a location marker on top to follow along on the map with! On the deck is a graphic of that city’s actual road. There is a slit in the deck to house the map.
PROMO
VIDEO
We created a promotional explainer video that can be played when sold online or featured on websites and in stores!
ENDCAP
DISPLAY
For the merchandiser/end cap display we wanted to play on the luggage packaging and create a slimy luggage carousel for the packaging to sit on. Each shelf has a street sign to indicate which kit it holds. We also chose to include our tagline to advertise what our product.
